KENOSHA, Wis. --
Kenosha firefighters found multiple automatic weapons, grenades and other items that resembled pipe bombs when they were called to a house fire Wednesday night.
The fire was on the first floor of a house at 2415 48th St.
Firefighters couldn't get in the front door because it was blocked by mattresses and furniture. They went in through the back door and put out the fire.
That is when the firefighters found the weapons. The home was then evacuated and the Kenosha Hazardous Device Squad was called in.
No one was injured and two cats were rescued.
The damage estimate from the fire is $45,000.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it's not related to the weapons, the fire department said.
