PITTSBURGH --
Pittsburgh firefighters rescued a homeowner from a burning home Sunday morning, dispatchers said.
The fire happened at about 2:40 a.m. in the 2300 block of Shady Avenue in Squirrel Hill.
The unidentified homeowner was taken to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian to be checked out, dispatch workers said.
The fire started in the basement but the cause was being investigated.
