Ohio Family Escapes after Explosion

A spark may have triggered the blaze.

LORAIN, Ohio --

A Lorain family was forced from their home early Friday morning after an explosion in their basement.

Firefighters said the explosion caused windows to pop out of the East 34th Street home.

Neighbor Patti Sanders said five people live in the house: a mother, father and three children.

They all ran from the house after the blast. Firefighters pulled empty, used gas containers from under the house. Crews said a spark could have ignited the fumes, but that's just one of the many possibilities.

Most of the damage was in the back of the house, in the basement and an upstairs bathroom.

No one was hurt in the explosion. The cause is still under investigation.
