MOUNT LEBANON, Pa. --
French fries are being blamed for a house fire in Mount Lebanon Tuesday night.
Firefighters had to pull two people onto their ladder from a third-floor apartment along Beverly Road at about 7 p.m.
"We saw them bring two people from the top left window. A lady came down the ladder with a firefighter and a young boy, probably 18 or in his teens. Smoke billowed into the air after that," said witness Danielle Prince.
The fire began in the kitchen of a first-floor apartment, but smoke filled the entire building, firefighters said.
Everyone inside the apartment building made it out safely.
