HOUSTON --

Two female Houston firefighters who said they were targeted by racist and sexist graffiti were asked to take lie detector tests, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Jane Draycott and Paula Keys' lockers at Houston Fire Station 54 at Bush Intercontinental Airport were broken into and their pictures were vandalized. The women discovered what happened when they arrived at work earlier this month.

The Office of Inspector General requested that Draycott and Keys take the tests.

An attorney said rumors have surfaced that one of them was involved in the offensive graffiti.

Attorney Joe Ahmad said it is untrue and his clients are willing to take the test because they have nothing to hide.

"I would hope that if our clients give polygraph tests, the others at the investigators' discretion will submit to them as well," Ahmad said.

Houston Fire Department Chief Phil Boriskie and the Houston firefighters union have received more than 200 letters from current and retired firefighters stating their support for the chief and the department.
