Tennessee Man Killed in Blaze

A Lawrenceburg man was killed and two firefighters were injured after a home caught fire.

LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. --

A Lawrenceburg man was killed and two firefighters were injured after a home caught fire on Sunday morning.

A 54-year-old man was found dead at a home on Voss Street, reported Lawrenceburgnow.com.

Lawrenceburg Asst. Fire Chief Steve Carter said the intense fire started in the attic of the home and was very difficult for crews to extinguish.

Investigators believe the victim was trying to escape the blaze.

One firefighter had chest pains and was taken by helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Another firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion.

Investigators said they do no think the fire was set intentionally.
