Burglar Breaks Into Texas Station
EL PASO, Texas --
Firefighters at El Paso fire station #21 in Northeast El Paso were a bit rattled Monday after their firehouse was broken into.
According to fire officials, the firefighters were sent on a call early Monday morning and returned to find their locker room ransacked and one of the firefighters' personal trucks stolen.
"They were coming back up the street and he looked over in the parking lot and he said, "Where's my truck"" said engineer Clifford Vance.
The firefighter's truck was located later Monday, but it had been completely stripped.
"It just makes you feel angry because this is our second home," Vance said.
The burglar broke in through a window on the side of the fire station, which is directly facing Transmountain.
"We spend a lot of our lives in here and to have someone come in and do something like that," Vance said.
And with safety always their minds, Monday they are thinking a little more about their own.
"You think you're safe in your work place especially a fire station, apparently not," Vance said.
If you have an information on the case, please call El Paso Crime Stoppers at (915) 566-8477.
