Seven Escape Blaze in Hawaii
WAIANAE, Hawaii --
An early-morning fire in Waianae sent firefighters scrambling on Saturday.
It took nine companies and 35 firefighters to finally extinguish the blaze. The fire broke out in the single-family home just before 4 a.m.
"This morning our crews arrived on scene and found it fully involved," Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Robert Main said. "Our investigation found that everyone got out safely. We are talking about three adults and four children. Right now the Red Cross is assisting them."
Firefighters used a new compressed foam to keep the blaze from reigniting.
A damage estimate was not available.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
