Pennsylvania Fire Police Officer Still In Hospital

ADAMS COUNTY, Pa. --

An Adams County fire police officer who was hit by a car on June 4 is still in the hospital.

The community is rallying together to help 72-year-old Mel Lehr get better.

"His condition's getting better. He's still in the ICU at York Hospital in serious condition, said Keith Baker, vice president of East Berlin Fire Company. "He's getting better every day."

Lehr is in need of blood.

The East Berlin community is holding a blood drive next Friday.

The drive is organized through the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank.
