SAN ANTONIO --

Three firefighters were injured while battling a house fire Tuesday morning on the city's east side.

One of the firefighters suffered first-degree burns. A second firefighter suffered third-degree burns and a third firefighter burned his hand.

The firefighters were injured moments after they entered a home in the 800 block of South Palmetto through a back door.

Neighbors told the fire chief they saw the residents move out of the home several hours earlier.
