FDNY Firefighter Injured in Fire

BROOKLYN (WABC) -- A third-alarm fire burned through a collectables store in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn -- injuring four firefighters and five residents.

The fire broke out inside the Collector's Fantasy at 222 Kings Highway just after 11 a.m. this morning.

It burned through the first-floor store and two apartments on the above floors. After the fire was put out, a firefighter was hurt when a rear wall collapsed onto him.

He was searching the building when he was hit by the falling wall.

He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries. Three other firefighters and five residents were treated for minor injuries.
