CHURCHILL, Pa. --

An elderly Churchill couple -- one of whom used a wheelchair and the other who had difficulty walking -- died in a fire at their home early Wednesday.

The fire started before 6 a.m. in the 3300 block of Longbow Drive, near the Parkway East and Route 22. (See Map)

A driver on the parkway noticed the flames and reported the fire between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m., WTAE Channel 4's Ari Hait reported.

Fire Chief Craig Robinson said he thinks the fire may have been burning for at least an hour before the call came in.

The victims' names are not being released yet because family members haven't been notified.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Allegheny County homicide detectives said it doesn't appear suspicious.
