Three Ohio Firefighters Struck at Accident Scene

Two Akron firefighters were transported to the hospital and the third was treated at the scene.

AKRON, Ohio --

Three firefighters were hit by a car while responding to the scene of an accident Saturday.

The second vehicle was traveling westbound on Eastland Avenue and hit a firefighter who was the directing traffic.

The vehicle also then struck the vehicle that was on fire. The two other firefighters were inside the car rescuing the driver.

One firefighter was treated at the scene. The other two were taken to Akron City Hospital. They were treated and released.

The condition of the driver is unknown.
