Onieal Appointed Acting Deputy Director of USFA
EMMITSBURG, MD -- Dr. Denis Onieal has been named acting deputy director of the U.S. Fire Administration.
Onieal, currently the superintendent of the National Fire Academy, replaces Charlie Dickinson who retired earlier this year.
Onieal's appointment that will take effect on Jan. 20 was announced to staff on Thursday morning, sources said.
The New Jersey resident took over as superintendent in 1995.
He is expected to assist with the transition until a new administrator is selected.
