Florida Man Rescued From High Construction Platform
MAITLAND, Fla. --
Three workers had to be rescued Monday afternoon when their construction platform collapsed at a Maitland construction site while they were six stories in the air.
One of the men had to wait more than an hour before rescuers could reach him.
The incident took place at a construction site at 2001 Summit Park Drive near Mailtland Boulevard.
When the platform broke, two of the men were rescued quickly with a forklift. One went to an emergency clinic for treatment of cuts. (An earlier report that a man fell to the ground was incorrect.)
The other man waited more than an hour while rescuers tried different ways to reach him. They tried a cherry picker and large ladder before using a crane.
A firefighter on the crane helped bring the man to the ground. He appeared unharmed.
