FDNY Fire Truck Collides with Bus

NEW YORK (WABC) -- A fire truck and MTA bus collided in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn injuring six firefighters and 19 people on the bus.

The FDNY ladder truck and the bus collided at the intersection of Hegeman Avenue and Mother Gaston Boulevard just before 11 a.m.

Six firefighters from Ladder 103 were rushed to the hospital, two with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, 19 people on the bus were shaken up and were being treated. Many of the injured were taken to Kings County Hospital.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The ladder truck was on its way to a car fire when the accident occurred.
