SAN ANTONIO --

Fire broke out at the Newell Recycling Plant Sunday afternoon, and investigators believe it may have been arson.

The fire began when a forklift caught fire around 3 p.m. Sunday. The machine was parked beneath a rubber conveyor belt that also caught fire.

Firefighters subdued the flames quickly. No one was injured, but the fire caused approximately $20,000 in damage.

Firefighters said the fire seems suspicious because the plant was shut down when it began.

"Security is on patrol here 24 hours a day, " San Antonio Fire Department District Fire Chief Lawrence Traveno. "[Maybe he noticed] somebody riding his bike by that looked a little suspicious, so we're going to go ahead get arson out here and investigate that."

This is the second fire in just a few months. In February a fire started in a silo at the plant. That incident was ruled accidental.
