New Hampshire Firefighters Buy Prom Dress

FITZWILLIAM, N.H. --

On the eve of a teenage girl's prom, fire ripped through her home in Fitzwilliam destroying everything including her prom dress.

The fire also killed three family pets.

After Alexandra Shaw's loss, firefighters decided while they couldn't save her home they could save her big night.

Neighbors took the teen shopping for a dress while the firefighters pooled their money to pick up the tab.

Alexandra's family says she attended the prom and was overwhelmed with gratitude.
