New York Fire Truck, Ambulance Struck at Crash Scene

No firefighters or EMS workers were injured in the accident.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A Rochester fire truck and a Rural Metro ambulance were struck on Dec. 11.

The emergency vehicles were on the scene of a medical call in the 300 block of Chili Avenue when a pickup truck -- which was traveling at a high rate of speed -- struck a vehicle which caused a chain reaction accident.

Firefighters quickly called for assistance to the scene. A total of four patients were transported to area hospitals along with the original patient that the firefighters and EMS personnel were originally there for.

No firefighters or EMS workers were injured in the accident. Chili Avenue was closed for about 30 minutes while the accident was investigated.
