SALEM, N.H. --

Four underage drinkers were arrested when the car they were in struck a fire truck at a fire scene on Sunday, police said.

Police said firefighters working at the scene of a tree and telephone on fire Sunday night saw a vehicle trying to get around a fire truck. The firefighters yelled at the driver, who then put the vehicle in reverse, striking the fire truck, police said. The vehicle damaged its mirror, and the fire truck sustained substantial scratching along its side.

Police officers at the scene approached the vehicle and found four people who appeared to be highly intoxicated, along with a full 12-pack of beer, police said.

The driver, Christopher Kamal, 19, of Alpharetta, Ga., was charged with DWI and transportation of alcohol. The passengers -- Andrew Malaney, 20, of Finley, Ohio; Kara Gelinas, 20, of Belmont, Mass.; and Ivan Oliiny, 20, of Salem, N.H. -- were charged with internal possession of alcohol.
