NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. --

A North Huntingdon man sent text messages and left a voicemail to tell a woman that her porch was on fire, then was arrested on arson charges a short time later, police said.

Two people escaped the fire on Brokers Lane without injury at about 1:15 a.m. Monday.

Firefighters had some trouble getting to the house because of icy roads.

Township police reported that they arrested Glenn Fallon, 58, on charges of arson, recklessly endangering another person and criminal mischief.

Police said Fallon and one of the women who lived in the house had an argument earlier in the week, and they said Fallon confessed to lighting a rag on fire and tossing it onto the porch.

According to a criminal complaint, Fallon sent text messages and voicemails to the woman he was angry with.

Police said Fallon sent a message reading, "Forgot to tell ya I lost your number and Jill gave it to me. Thank God for her. I think your porch is on fire," at 11:45 p.m. Sunday.

Neighbor Jaci Nichols watched as North Huntingdon police pulled into her apartment complex.

"It's kind of scary," said Nichols. "We had heard really loud pounding on the door, so we looked out the window and we had seen the guy answered and they had gone in his apartment and took him out in handcuffs."

Fallon's bail was set at $50,000.
