JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --

Firefighters call the retired boat 'Eugene Johnson,' and it can be yours for $150,000. One might buy this boat for nostalgia purposes alone. It has a pretty impressive history.

"It's fought some pretty big fires. The only reason we actually extinguished the Stuart Fire was that this boat pumped 6,000 gallons a minute for five days nonstop," said JFRD Chief Larry Paterson.

The Stuart Fire, in 1993, was a 1 million-gallon oil tank that burned for five days straight.

Chief Paterson says the boat is still in great shape, and a smaller department could put it back in service. He also says a family can sail the St. Johns River and shoot water from the boat's cannon, and he says that's perfectly legal.
