GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Firefighters are trying to find out what started a fire that destroyed an Upstate business.
When firefighters rushed to 'Debra's Resale Shop' on Wilkinsville Highway in Gaffney at one o'clock Friday morning. News Channel 7's camera was there as firefighter's tried to knock down the intense flames.
Several departments had to back out because of the fire was too much. They say, Debra's is a salon and consignment shop with chemicals inside from when it used to be a cabinet shop.
Firefighters may not have been out there so quickly if it wasn't for a passerby. Polly Ruppe said, "I was on my way home, and i wouldn't have even thought it was on fire. I thought it was a light at first, and then i seen the flames and i told Ryan to get the phone and call 911 but I was scared."
The cause is still under investigation, and no one was hurt. On Friday morning news were monitoring the road, because it may have ice on it from all the water used to put out the flames.
