SACRAMENTO, Calif. --

Two south Sacramento apartments located near a fire station that was "browned out" due to rotating closures burned Sunday, fire officials said.

A third unit also received some damage from the blaze, officials said.

The apartments were located at 6815 24th Street near Fire Station No. 16, which was closed.

Fire stations are on rotating closures, or "brownouts," because of budget problems.

Fire crews from a station at Franklin Boulevard and 47th Avenue were on another call but made themselves available to fight the fire.

There have been no injuries reported in the fire, officials said.

The blaze is currently under investigation.
