Houston Firefighter Injured Battling Blaze

A captain suffered chest pains, likely from heat exhaustion suffered when he and other firefighters went into the home, officials said.

HOUSTON --

A firefighter was hospitalized after he was hurt while battling a house fire, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston firefighters said crews fought flames at a home on Roos Road near Larkwood Drive at about 3 a.m.

Firefighters went into defensive mode because the flames were too fierce.

A captain suffered chest pains, likely from heat exhaustion suffered when he and other firefighters went into the home, officials said.

He was taken to Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital and is expected to fully recover.
