EATONVILLE, Fla. --
An Eatonville fire that sent one firefighter to the hospital is believed to be a case of arson, investigators said.
Firefighters believe someone broke into a vacant home Sunday night and set the place ablaze. The doors were boarded up, and firefighters said they believe the person entered through a window.
Investigators said they found a mattress soaked in fuel, which was one indication of arson.
"It would appear that it's possibly suspicious since there's no meter and no one living in the structure," Maitland Battalion Chief Kim Neisler said. "We have the state fire marshal on the scene to investigate."
Neighbors said this is a known drug house in the area. However, firefighters have not found any reason to believe that is the cause of the fire.
During the fire, a Maitland firefighter was transported to a hospital after being overcome by heat. That firefighter has since been released.
