Tones sounded for a possible vehicle fire on April 21 at 1700 hours. City of Richmond firefighters hit the streets in high gear arrived on scene to see an inferno.
A vehicle accident had occurred, resulting in a vehicle erupting in fire on the Shockoe Valley Bridge.
Rescue 2 had arrived on the scene reporting two vehicles fully involved. Quint 6 laid a supply line on Hospital St. under the bridge and then put their ladder up, creating a "flying" standpipe. This provided water for the companies operating on the bridge.
Responding on the call were Quint 15, Quint 6, Quint 5, Rescue 2, and Tanker 8, and Battalion 1.
The MVA is under investigation.
