INDIANAPOLIS --

A large fire broke out Wednesday morning at a Marion County Health Department maintenance facility, sending a large plume of smoke into the air.

Several fire crews were at the scene of the two-alarm blaze. No one was believed to be injured.

The fire began at the garage in the 4400 block of North Rural Street after 10 a.m.

Aerial units were attempting to battle the blaze from above, but were having difficulty because of cold temperatures and brisk wind.

The garage is used for storage and repair of Wishard Memorial Hospital ambulances, 6News' Jack Rinehart reported.

An electrical fuse box problem was reported in the garage at 11 p.m. Tuesday night. Officials were not immediately sure if that incident was connected to the fire.

Two ambulances were believed to be inside the facility during the fire. Other working ambulances were taken out before the fire spread, officials said.
