Dump Truck Catches Fire in Florida Crash

Three people were transported to the hospital and one person was reported dead at the scene.

DORAL, Fla. --

Traffic was snarled on Florida's Turnpike for several hours Tuesday morning after a dump truck caught fire in a collision with two other vehicles.

It happened in the southbound lanes near Miami International Airport and Northwest 41st Street about 7:50 a.m.

The dump truck was burning near the median, but firefighters extinguished the blaze within minutes.

A charred vehicle was burned beyond recognition and wedged between the dump truck and median. Another car was overturned in the opposite lanes.

Three people were transported to the hospital and one person was reported dead at the scene.
