DENVER --

A former fire captain fired in 2005 was charged Wednesday with slashing tires of numerous vehicles parked in front of Denver fire stations.

Glenn Guyman, 53, was charged with four counts of felony criminal mischief, the Denver District Attorney said.

According to District Attorney Mitch Morrissey, Guyman caused thousands of dollars in damage when he slashed the tires of both city and personal vehicles at four fire stations on Jan. 18.

Fire station No. 11 at Second Avenue and Broadway No. 24 at Yale Avenue and Colorado Blvd., No. 28 at Quincy Avenue and Sheridan Blvd. and No. 30 at Belleview Avenue and Dudley Street were involved.

The distance between firehouses suggests someone spent at least an hour driving between the four separate locations, investigators said.

A total of nine vehicles had been vandalized.

Guyman, an 18-year veteran, has a lengthy arrest record. He was convicted on charges of cruelty to a child in August 2005 and has been arrested on charges of harassment, domestic violence, druving under the influce, violation of a protection order, and property damage.

He was released on $25,000 bond. He will be formally advised of his charges on March 10.
