D.C. House Destroyed by Fire

Firefighters were evacuated from the house.

WASHINGTON --

A two-alarm fire destroyed a home in Northeast on Tuesday.

Firefighters were called to 49th Street and Hayes Street Northeast just after 11:30 a.m.

Fire personnel were evacuated from the house as the fire burned through the roof, destroying the building.

Three firefighters were pulled from a burning porch area and returned to battling the blaze.

No one was injured, officials said.
