DALLAS --
Police arrested a Dallas firefighter suspected of starting a grass fire Monday morning.
Police arrived at the scene of the fire at about 3:30 a.m. near Grady Lane and Masters Drive and saw a man get into a truck and leave. Officers said they pursued the truck and pulled him over shortly afterward.
Officers stopped the driver and said they found alcohol in his truck and a gas can in the bed.
Police said they arrested Michael Taylor and charged him with driving while intoxicated.
The Dallas Fire Department confirmed the arrest and said they will conduct an investigation and Taylor will be placed on administrative leave.
Taylor has been a firefighter for about seven years.
