SOMERSET, Pa. --
A young couple was killed when a condo burst into flames early Sunday morning.
A close family friend told Channel 11 Sasha Zuro, 26, and Jonathan Murt, 22, just met in November and instantly hit it off. But the intense flames that officials said started in the fireplace of the condo on Sunridge Road around 1 a.m. killed the couple.
Firefighters from three counties worked to put out the three-alarm fire. Six condominiums near the Seven Springs resort were destroyed in the blaze.
Veronica Michleski, a friend of the victims, told Channel 11 the pair liked to spend time in the mountains with their friends on weekends.
"Would do anything for you; absolutely larger than life. If she seen somebody, down she'd pick them up. That's just who she was. Because if you ever needed anybody, she was always there, Michleski said.
No other injuries were reported in the fire.
Managers at Seven Springs resort said temporary facilities are being provided for those displaced by the fire.
Fire officials said the fire appears to be an accident.
