The fire smoldered in a wall for some time.

DAYTON, Ohio --

Firefighters in Dayton said lightning struck an old television antenna on a house in the 200 block of Livingston Avenue and started a fire.

Fire officials said the fire smoldered in a wall for hours before the homeowners realized that something was wrong.

Firefighters said three people managed to escape the fire safely. The home suffered about $5,000 in damage and will need some electrical repairs.
