CINCINNATI --

One firefighter was recovering after being injured during a three-alarm fire in College Hill overnight Wednesday.

Crews were called to the shopping center on Hamilton Avenue at about 11:00 and found flames spreading quickly through the building. At least four units were located in the building, and two of them were occupied by businesses at the time of the fire.

Firefighters told News 5 the fire was particularly difficult because the units contained a common area that allowed the flames to spread easily. At one point they said crew members had to exit the building and the roof to fight the flames from outside.

As of early Thursday morning, crews were not sure what started the fire, and there was no estimate of damages. Crews at the scene said it looks like damage was extensive to both businesses involved.
