Wisconsin Worker Killed in Trench Collapse
TOWN OF SOMERS, Wis. --
Recovery crews in Kenosha County are trying to get the body of a construction worker out of a trench.
The rescue operation began at about 8:45 a.m. The worker was about 25 feet down.
When crews reached the victim at about 10:45 a.m., the man was dead.
The worker was at a construction site on 31st Street just west of Green Bay Road. He was part of a private contracting crew that was laying sewer pipe.
The Kenosha County and Lake County special rescue teams were both called to the scene.
The victim's family has been notified.
