Jefferson County, Colo. --
Three adults and a toddler made it safely out of a burning home in Coal Creek Canyon early Monday.
The fire started before 3 a.m. in 29000 block of Spruce Canyon Drive.
"I was asleep and I heard the window break, like someone was stumbling or something. I woke up out of sleep and then I heard the fire alarm go off. Then I looked out my window and saw the fire was outside," said Angie Van Buren, a resident of the home.
Two friends and a 2-year-old were sleeping downstairs, Van Buren said.
As soon as they got out of the home it went up in flames.
Firefighters from Boulder and Jefferson counties were investigating the cause.
There was extensive damage to the home.
