WASHINGTON CO., Pa. --

An 88-year-old woman was killed Sunday afternoon when fire swept through her home in Centerville Borough, Washington County.

The Washington County coroner identified the victim as Barbara Belovich. Firefighters reportedly found Belovich in the basement of her National Avenue home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crews said that the fire was difficult to bring under control due to lots of boxes and clutter inside the house.

Investigators believe the blaze started near the furnace, but the cause remains under investigation.
