CINCINNATI --

A busy Cincinnati street is closed after a railcar leak early Wednesday morning.

Police said hydrochloric acid appeared to be leaking from a railcar near the Hopple Street Viaduct shortly after 6 a.m. The tanker is carrying 192,000 gallons of acid.

Firefighters initially reported a cloud of vapor near the railcar, but that cloud has since dissipated.

The viaduct has been closed between Spring Grove Avenue and Beekman Street.

Fire crews are attempting to approach the tank car to evaluate the leak. Workers said it appears that no buildings are within 500 feet of the railcar, and no evacuations have been ordered beyond that point.
