Fire and Emergency Services were part of a showcase on the Washington, D.C. National Mall Wednesday.
Hosted by the Congressional Fire Services Institute and sponsored by the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA), the showcase displayed a vast assortment of technology firefighters use when responding to emergencies. The event was designed to educate Congress, the Administration and the general public about the many roles of our nation's firefighters.
With the Capitol as a background, hundreds of fire service personnel and people touring the mall, Firefighter Combat Challenge launched its 2008 national season.
The Home Safety Council (HSC) conducted and hosted safety presentations in the HSC Education Pavilion for the young and old alike. And the West Virginia University Fire Service Extension burn trailer was hot with fire training situations.
