Firefighters Injured in NYC Blaze

A second-alarm fire burning in a house in Elmhurst, Queens, injured as many as three firefighters Friday.

ELMHURST -- A second-alarm fire burning in a house in Elmhurst, Queens, injured as many as three firefighters Friday.

Authorities say the fire burned through the basement and second floor of the house at 51-13 Gorsline Street.

All of the injuries are said to be non-life-threatening. All the firefighters were taken to the burn unit at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical CenteBurn Center. The exact nature of their injuries is not yet known.

It was not clear how the firefighters were injured.

At least two dozen pieces of equipment and more than 100 firefighters are at the scene.
