Pennsylvania Firefighter Goes Into Cardiac Arrest While Fighting Fire

The firefighter was airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital.

SOUTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. --

A fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. at an old farmhouse at 367 Smithton Pike in South Huntingdon Township.

A firefighter apparently went into cardiac arrest while fighting the fire and was treated by paramedics, who possibly saved his life.

He was airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause is under investigation.
