2 Kansas City Firefighters Hurt Battling Blaze

One firefighter suffered minor burns to his neck and face, another dislocated his finger.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. --

Two firefighters were injured battling a house fire at Ninth Street and Orville Avenue late Monday night.

When crews arrived at about 11:40 p.m., thick smoke and flames were coming from the upper floor of the home.

One firefighter suffered minor burns to his neck and face. Another firefighter dislocated his finger.

Authorities said the house was vacant.

Investigators said the fire appears suspicious.
