BITHLO, Fla. --

A fire in East Orange County caused explosions at a home Friday morning.

The fire forced a family from their mobile home in Bithlo. They said they were not able to salvage much from the home but everyone got out safely.

The fire broke out around 4 Friday morning.

When firefighters arrived they heard explosions. The homeowner, Allan April, said he had some ammunition in his shed, which caused the explosion. April also said he kept a 100-gallon propane tank in the back yard.

A neighbor was able to take cell phone footage of the explosions.

"The flames were already coming up through the house," April said. "Where these were my dad was sleeping in the couch and my mom was sleeping in the bedroom. I immediately got them up to get them out and I immediately started getting pictures off the wall and I didn't think about the dog. Unfortunately he didn't get out."

The dog was later found alive.

"This wasn't an accident," April said.

April said the phone lines and the water line to his house were cut. The fire department is investigating his claims.

The Orange County Fire Department has extinguished the fire.
