Flames vented through the roof and smoke blanketed the neighborhood as fire spread through New Canaan Pentecostal Church at 3448 Chapel Drive around 1254 hours on April 25.
Responding were: Quints 5, 6, 8, 17, 21, 22, 23, 26, Rescue 1 and 2, Airlight 11, Battalion 3 and for EMS support, Richmond Ambulance Authority.
Crews arrived on scene to find fire and heavy smoke showing.
Four inch supply line was laid and a multitude of handlines were stretched as the firefighterws went in for the attack.
Ventilation was performed on the roof to improve conitions for the firefighters who were performing the aggressive attack.
A quick knock down was accomplished.
Officials said firefighters were able to contain the fire to a couple of rooms.
The building was unoccupied at the time and the cause is under investigation.
