ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. --

The Bridge of Lions reopened Tuesday morning after a construction barge under the bridge caught fire overnight.

Investigators said the fire started about 3 a.m. on a barge that supplies electricity to welders working on the bridge. It took about 20 minutes before firefighters put it out.

There was no word on what caused the fire.

A planned closing of the bridge will occur Thursday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. to accommodate a large concrete pour on the new structure. Traffic to and from Anastasia Island must use state Road 312 during the detour.
