WINDERMERE, Fla. --

A fire destroyed a multimillion-dollar home in Windermere Tuesday morning, and a firefighter was hurt while battling the blaze.

The home in Lake Crescent Reserve was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

It was vacant, and for sale for $1.3 million.

Neighbors said they saw two men running toward a truck after being spotted. It was four minutes later when the fire was noticed.

"I just heard a big boom go off. At first I thought it may have been a firework, so I walked on over here, and then I saw a big ball of fire. I was standing there and it took me a while to realize it was real," neighbor Patrick Tahamey said.

"I don't think it just happened, so someone probably had something to do with it," neighbor Reema Sarkisian said.

The firefighter suffered a sprained ankle while battling the blaze. He was treated at the scene. Nobody else was hurt.

The state fire marshal's office is investigating.
