DALLAS --

Fire investigators said they are looking into what started a fire that trapped and killed a woman Monday morning.

Firefighters arrived at a home in the 300 block of Montclair Avenue in Oak Cliff at about 1 a.m.

After spending about 90 minutes extinguishing the fire, crews said they found the woman -- whom they haven't identified -- dead near her front door.

"We were just a little too late," Capt. Gary Hash said.

Investigators are trying to determine what started the fire and why the woman wasn't able to escape.
