PHILADELPHIA --

One man is dead, two others are in the hospital after fire swept through a boarding house in the Spring Garden section of Philadelphia.

Flames broke out in a four-story row home on the 1800 block of Green Street at around 4 a.m. Saturday.

Firefighters rescued at least two people from the second floor of the building; however, one of those rescued from the blaze later died at the hospital.

"They said they can't release no names now, you know? But I loved all of them, so it's still going to hurt," John Jones, the boarding house chef, said.

The Red Cross is helping nearly a dozen survivors find shelter. Investigators are investigating what sparked the blaze.
