YORK, Pa. --

A fire in York city killed four people early Sunday morning.

The victims were two children and their mother and father.

The fire started just after 2 a.m. Saturday in a home on the 200 block of Kings Mill Road.

Fire officials said four members of the Hernandez family died on the second floor. Firefighters said they could not reach the victims.

The York County coroner said the victims are 40-year-old Jose Hernandez, his wife, 38-year-old Arceli Hernandez, their 12-year-old daughter Gema Hernandez, and 1-year-old son Jose Hernandez Jr.

Three of the couple's other daughters. Karen Hernandez, Crystal Hernandez, and Elena Hernandez all jumped from a window and are being treated at York Hospital. The family tells News 8 that one daughter suffered a broken leg, and another suffered a broken arm.

The York County coroner said Arceli Hernandez was four months pregnant.

Fire officials said the cause of the fire was likely electrical. The York City assistant fire chief, John Kottmyer believes the fire was started from an extension cord in the basement.
